Role Overview:

The Category Merchandiser will report directly to the Head of Commercial and will be an integral part of the Commercial team. This role is based in a collaborative environment, working alongside colleagues responsible for Pricing, Rebate, Buying, Catalogue Management, and Website Merchandising. Achieving key trading metrics within the tyre product category is essential to this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the trading of the tyre product category, ensuring the delivery of key performance metrics.
  • Oversee daily sales and profit targets through effective pricing strategies, commercial negotiations, and competitor analysis.
  • Identify growth opportunities within the market to enhance the product category.
  • Collaborate with a Growth specialist to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
  • Contribute to the promotional calendar in partnership with other Category Merchandisers and the Head of Commercial.
  • Negotiate deals and promotional investments with manufacturers and wholesalers.
  • Deliver annual growth in net margin and rebate metrics.
  • Provide weekly performance reports to the Senior Management team against established KPIs.
  • Work with the Marketing team to explore additional income opportunities.
  • Challenge external partners to maintain an industry-leading product catalogue with comprehensive coverage across all sizes and grades.
  • Collaborate with various teams to identify and eliminate customer pain points through improved processes and automation.
  • Stay informed about trends and developments in the motoring industry.
