Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team at Breakthrough Consulting Limited. As a Design Manager, you will play a key role in the development of our construction projects, working closely with our team to deliver high-quality designs that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preconstruction: You will be part of our bid team, supporting the development of tenders for projects that you will go on to manage.
  • Delivery: You will identify design opportunities and potential problems, coordinating and developing solutions to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Commercially Aware: You will work with our Quantity Surveyor to ensure projects are delivered profitably.
  • Team Coordination: As a Design Manager, you will take a leading role in coordinating the various parties involved in a project, ensuring the best possible design for our clients, our business, and our supply chain.
  • Process Management: You will ensure that records are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
  • Experience working for a main contractor on projects with a value of £5M to £20M.
  • Experience working on new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Experience working on a range of projects, including schools, commercial, leisure, and luxury housing.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a design management role.
  • A passion for construction and a willingness to learn and improve.
