Mechanical Technician

Job Summary:
Omega Resource Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in Bath. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes and the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate production workflows to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
- Identify and resolve parts shortages and component delivery issues to minimize production delays.
- Support design and engineering teams in the development of new products and production processes.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to introduce new products and processes into full manufacture.
- Provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle, including low-rate production, returned material activity, defect investigation, and product repair.
- Review and update assembly, disassembly, and function test documentation and working instructions.
- Liaise with operations personnel and the ITS Team leader to determine daily production requirements.
- Generate engineering and test reports to an agreed standard.
Requirements:
- Possess a clean, valid UK driving license.
- Time-served assembly fitter or equivalent experience in a high-value, low-volume mechanical manufacturing, assembly, and test environment.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and SolidWorks.
- Ability to obtain UK security clearance, with further restrictions possible for certain projects.
- Practical, hands-on approach, comfortable working with high-value, precision components.
- Able to test hydro-pneumatic components and systems.
- Able to use standard measuring equipment and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Working Conditions:
This is a permanent position, working a 37-hour week. Occasional work outside normal office hours and travel to other sites may be required, with occasional overnight stays. International travel may be necessary to support overseas activities.
