Job Title: Reviews Officer

At Ackerman Pierce Ltd, we are seeking an experienced Reviews Officer to join our team. As a Reviews Officer, you will play a crucial role in reviewing negative homelessness decisions and suitability of offers, ensuring that our clients receive fair and just outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of negative homelessness decisions and suitability of offers, ensuring that all relevant factors are considered.
  • Make informed decisions based on assessments and evidence, taking into account the complexities of homelessness and the impact on families and individuals.
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager to ensure that all reviews are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Act as the council's representative in any subsequent court challenge to a review decision or in any litigation around the conduct of the review.
  • Conduct appeals against housing register decisions, ensuring that all relevant procedures are followed.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Experience in reviewing negative homelessness decisions and suitability of offers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions based on assessments and evidence.
