About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment - Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and classroom support to students with special educational needs
  • Help students access the curriculum and develop their skills and confidence
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans and monitor progress
  • Support students with complex needs, including ASD, non-verbal, down syndrome, PDA, and GLD

Requirements:

  • A minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
  • Experience of working with SEN students in a secondary school setting
  • Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive and flexible attitude
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
