About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our team as Clinical Lead for the Child and Young People's Enhanced Support Service in West Sussex. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team and working closely with partners in health, education, and social care to provide high-quality support to families with children with learning disabilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead a dynamic multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist support to families with children with learning disabilities.
  • Develop and implement innovative and creative practice to improve the lives of young people with learning disabilities and their families.
  • Work closely with partners in health, education, and social care to ensure seamless service delivery and effective collaboration.
  • Provide supervision, consultation, and liaison to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage high levels of clinical risk and ensure the safety and well-being of service users.

Person Specification
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology as approved by the HCPC.
  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, including children and young people with learning disabilities.
  • Well-developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult-to-treat groups.
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of highly specialised psychological therapies and assessment methodologies.
