As a Paediatric Specialist, you will be working with children and young people with a range of needs, including Sensory Processing Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Dyspraxia, and neurological disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct assessments of children using standardized and informal assessment tools
- Develop and implement child-centered treatment plans through goal attainment scaling and a range of treatment techniques
- Provide 1:1 and small group treatment sessions in school and/or clinic settings
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records
- Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to promote the safety of children and manage risk
- Recognized Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Health Professions Council – Licence to Practice
- Evidence of successful completion of postgraduate-level short courses
- Clinical experience in paediatric settings, including coordination of intervention planning and working with children with a range of needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including observation, listening, and empathy
- High level of computer literacy for effective data collection and report writing
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Ability to move and transfer equipment to various locations, with understanding of moving and handling policies
- Physical agility for daily prolonged periods of time
- Ability to work in sometimes unpleasant conditions, including lone working
