**Job Summary**
Burman Recruitment is seeking a skilled Category Manager/Project Buyer to join their Estates division. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to support the University's objectives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to achieve optimal value for money and enhance procurement best practices.
- Manage high-value procurement projects, ensuring compliance with public contracts legislation and financial regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize service delivery and cost-efficiency.
- Lead procurement-led transformation programs and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Provide expertise and guidance on procurement practices to non-specialists within the University.
**Essential Qualifications & Experience:**
- Extensive procurement experience within a construction or facilities management environment.
- Proven track record of managing tier 1 contracts.
- Familiarity with modern procurement techniques, value for money, and whole-life costing.
- Experience managing procurement projects exceeding £10m.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using e-tendering systems.
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), qualified to level 4 or above.
