We are seeking an experienced and skilled Specialist ADHD Practitioner to join our team at Navigo Health and Social Care CIC. As a Specialist ADHD Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other neurodiverse conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Administer evidence-based assessment tools to support clinical judgment in the assessment of adults with ADHD.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to diagnose ADHD and signpost individuals who do not meet the ADHD criteria to more appropriate services.
- Build a caseload of individuals who require medication for the treatment of their ADHD, and provide support with input from the Peer Support Worker and other NICE-approved interventions.
- Participate in the administration and interpretation of specific assessment tools within ADHD assessment and communicate the results to the Multidisciplinary Team.
- Act as a specialist expert resource within the service, working autonomously to support families and other healthcare professionals.
- Attend multi-agency meetings to advise, write specialist reports, and plan care, acting as a patient advocate when appropriate.
- Participate in and lead complex MDT Clinics to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for individuals with ADHD.
- Registered healthcare professional (e.g., NMC or HCPC)
- Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification or willingness to undertake this course
- Excellent understanding of mental health conditions and services, including relevant legislation
- Knowledge and understanding of the assessment and management of service users in determining whether presentations may be due to ADHD or other differential diagnoses
- Good knowledge of typical and disordered child development and the potential impact of ADHD on the emotional, intellectual, and social development, and ability to recognize co-morbidities and secondary behaviors
- Knowledge of equality, diversity, inclusion, and human rights and its importance
