Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Director of Quantity Surveying to lead our team of Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers in Wales and the South. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advising on construction costs and contract management activities, monitoring compliance of construction requirements and standards, and providing Project Controls services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tender and appoint the construction team, reviewing tender returns, authorizing application of payment, risk analysis, and valuation certificate production.
- Prepare financial reports, agree final accounts, and produce associated documentation.
- Lead our team of Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers in Wales and the South, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage projects, including resourcing and financial performance, and bid management experience, including preparation of quality submissions and fee proposals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, including Cardiff City Council, Welsh Government, GLLM, Bridgend College, University of Cardiff, and other local authorities.
Requirements:
- Experience of working on education, commercial, health, or defence projects in the UK or overseas.
- Experience using cost management tools such as Cost X or similar.
- Experience using contract management tools such as Acone, CEMAR, or similar.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, good planning and organizing skills, together with strong time management skills and team working.
- A full driving licence.
