Opus People Solutions is collaborating with a local authority to identify an interim Financial Services Manager for Adult Social Care. This pivotal role involves spearheading the enhancement of financial systems and processes within the Adult Social Care sector while overseeing the finance team.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of financial processes related to Adult Social Care and the responsibilities outlined in the Care Act. Experience in leading transformation initiatives and implementing brokerage functions within Adult Social Care is essential. The successful applicant will also work in close partnership with commissioning colleagues. Familiarity with the Mosaic system will be advantageous.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with and promote the organization's Health, Wellbeing, and Safety at Work policies, effectively implementing these within designated areas of responsibility.
  • Prioritize the protection of vulnerable individuals, enabling them to live as independently as possible while safeguarding their welfare.
  • Champion the organization's employment policies, emphasizing diversity, equality of access, and treatment in employment, service delivery, and community involvement.
  • Align services with the organization's strategy, vision, objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Lead the Social Care Financial Services, managing interdependencies among Financial Assessments, Client Welfare Services, and Commissioned Care Services Payments Teams.
  • Initiate transformational change and develop a strategic vision, operational plans, and business strategies for the Social Care Financial Service.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for services, including financial assessments, deferred payments, direct payments, independent personal budgets, and brokerage.
  • Accountable for the effective management of the service portfolio.
  • Develop a performance framework aligned with service delivery and benefits realization.
  • Offer oversight, technical expertise, and professional support in financial assessments and brokerage of commissioned services.
  • Manage the Appointee ship and Deputyship team, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Review and enhance systems and processes to support the mobilization of digital systems and best practices within Adult Social Care operations.
