Financial Controller

A well-established Accountancy Practice in Bath is seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Controller / Outsourcing Senior to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in providing services such as bookkeeping, management accounting, and business advice to a portfolio of clients.
The Financial Controller will have the opportunity to develop their own client portfolio and will have access to excellent cloud resources to increase efficiency and focus on more complex accounting tasks, such as virtual FD roles, to support fast-growing businesses by implementing new processes and providing support with management information to make informed financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparing reports (annual and monthly) to identify results, trends, and forecasts.
- Assisting the Managing Director with all accounting operations, including Billing, Cost Accounting, Stock, and work in progress, and Revenue Recognition.
- Preparing weekly cash flow reports.
- Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Streamlining accounting functions and operations.
- Supervising and managing financial department staff.
- Providing external auditors with the necessary documentation and support.
- Working with the Managing Director to develop systems to support clients' businesses.
- Building and maintaining good working relationships with clients and ensuring all communications are conducted in a professional and timely manner.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns across different schemes.
- Overall responsibility for client profitability and client service delivery.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience across bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and management accounting.
- Strong cloud accounting experience and Excel skills are essential.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE will be considered.
- Experience within practice or industry considered.
- Client and deadline-driven.
The successful candidate will receive:
- £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
- Options for the role to be 3 days per week or full-time.
- Clear progression routes.
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays rising yearly with service.
