About the Role
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a full-time Lead Commissioning Specialist to join our team. The successful applicant will oversee the Contract Monitoring and Review sub-team, collaborating with fellow Senior Commissioning Specialists to assist the Commissioning Manager and Service Manager in the effective operation of the service.
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Coordinating and managing the activities of the Commissioning Officers, ensuring optimal use of time and skills through regular supervision and performance reviews.
- Assisting the Service Manager in delivering high-quality services for children and families, adhering to legal standards and organizational policies.
- Supporting the development of strategies to foster positive market engagement focused on relational commissioning opportunities.
- Establishing and enforcing robust contractual agreements across the service while managing compliance, quality, and performance of service providers.
- Providing oversight for the management of issues related to performance and quality, engaging with service providers to implement improvement plans as necessary.
- Creating systems for documenting and reviewing information, ensuring data collection related to commissioning requests to guide future initiatives.
- Contributing to the Council's efforts to maximize value for money and enhance outcomes for children and families.
- Maintaining effective communication processes with internal and external partners.
- Conducting reviews of existing commissioned care packages and collaborating closely with allocated workers.
An enhanced DBS check is a requirement for this position.
About You
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Experience in utilizing monitoring and evaluation for informed planning, including data systems for performance tracking.
- Experience in business process design, testing, and documentation of work instructions.
- Experience in commissioning, contracting, or providing social care services to children and young people in various organizational settings.
- Experience in a senior role involving staff management, relationship development, and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of the challenges faced by children and young people in care, as well as child development needs.
- Familiarity with relevant national legislation and regulatory requirements, including safeguarding policies and contract procedures.
- The ability to analyze information and produce clear, well-structured reports with recommendations.
