We are seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join our team as an Executive Cost Manager at Gleeds Newcastle Office. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a sociable environment as part of a growing team of cost managers.
Key Responsibilities- Support Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives and driving growth across the Business Units activities.
- Engage with Customers and develop, grow, and maintain Customer relationships to deliver high-quality services and meet Customers' requirements.
- Manage projects and deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures, including cost planning, cost-in-use studies, and procurement strategies.
- Prepare and present order of cost estimates and option studies, and advise on and implement procurement strategies.
- Evaluate and report on tenders, value completed work, and arrange for payments, and settle final accounts.
- Administrate contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent, and produce and present reports to Customers.
We are looking for a candidate with sound cost management experience post MRICS qualification, and a sound knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and planning, construction methods and materials, and construction procurement strategies.
Requirements- MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
- Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
- Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts
- Ability to work as part of a team
