About the Role

Caval Limited is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join our team on a freelance basis. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other infrastructure, on a new build industrial development in Scarborough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee subcontractors and ensure that work is progressing in alignment with the project plan and timeline.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and site inspections to identify potential risks and implement effective solutions.
  • Authorise invoices for mechanical work and oversee contractor payments.
  • Track project expenses and manage resources effectively to remain within budget.
  • Resolve any issues with materials, labor, or equipment that could delay the project.
  • Ensure all site works are performed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate mechanical works with other trades to avoid conflicts.
  • Monitor the quality of work, ensuring it meets project specifications and standards efficiently.
  • Develop cost estimates and anticipate any additional expenses that might occur during the project.
Requirements
  • Proven industry expertise with a track record of successfully managing mechanical packages in excess of 1m on new build/refurbishment projects.
  • Extensive background within the industry with at least 3 years of experience working in a Mechanical Site Manager position or similar for a leading contractor or subcontractor.
  • Experience working on projects within the industrial sector is advantageous.
