RESPONSIBILITIES

Weatherford is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a distributed team focused on well planning and survey analysis software. This position can be home-based or office-based.

The Senior Software Engineer will be accountable for the design, development, review, refactoring, and maintenance of software ensuring quality and performance. This role also entails contributing to the development efforts for software applications, which includes analyzing, evaluating, and designing advanced applications. Additionally, this position involves developing complex areas of the application, analyzing requirements, and creating technical design documentation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, review, refactor, and maintain software ensuring quality and performance.
  • Collaborate on planning, development, and testing to meet the defined criteria for completion.
  • Proactively identify issues and work collaboratively across teams to resolve challenges.
  • Actively engage in the Scrum/Sprint process, including reviewing backlog stories, planning meetings, and prioritizing work efforts.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in reflection, retrospection, and continuous incremental improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a similar capacity.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as C++, C#, and frameworks like .NET, Qt, WPF.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles (Object-oriented programming, MVVM).
  • Experience with database (SQL) design and management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Software Engineering standard practices and coding guidelines.
  • Ability to learn quickly and master a variety of technologies and techniques.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebase.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft standard development tools - Visual Studio and Azure DevOps.
  • Advanced estimation skills with experience in assisting with estimation.
  • Ability to work independently by establishing responsible deadlines and personal work plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to visualize processes and outcomes.
  • Willingness and capability to learn new technologies.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in daily tasks.
