About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Packing Operator to join our team at PQ Corporation. As a Packing Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our chemical plant packing system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Setup: Prepare and set up the packing system in line with standard instructions, ensuring all packaging, equipment, labeling, and raw materials are available for the specific planned product and tonnage.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Microniser Operator to meet set KPIs, adhering to packing guidelines for sampling, pack presentation, labeling, weight control, addition of additives, reworking, and good manufacturing practice.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards, including auditing, reporting, team improvement activities, and housekeeping in multiple areas.
  • Documentation and Communication: Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, completing batch documentation, handovers, and assisting others to improve knowledge and understanding.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Clean down process equipment and packing areas, maintaining GMP standards.
Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: Relevant industrial experience is mandatory.
  • Manual Handling Skills: Manual handling skills, including formal training, are preferred.
  • Shift Work Experience: Experience of 24-hour continuous shift working is preferred.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Units and elements of C&G PT2 Process Plant Operations or NVQ level 1 are desirable, as are current FLT-powered hand truck licenses.
