Job Summary

Active Personnel Recruitment LTD is seeking a skilled HGV/PSV Technician to join our team in Cardiff. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain commercial vehicles and trailers to meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers, adhering to VOSA standards.
  • Diagnose and rectify complex faults, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to vehicle breakdowns and ensuring timely repairs.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to obtain necessary components, ensuring efficient repair processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records, completing job cards and service sheets in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized workshop, adhering to high standards of tidiness.
  • Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, attending training courses to enhance skills and expertise.
  • Perform general duties as required, supporting the team in achieving our goals.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently, meeting deadlines and adhering to guidelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ) or equivalent experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • Current driving license and LGV/HGV license.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, with alternate shifts (07:00-15:30 / 14:00-22:30).
