Position Overview
This role serves as the Management Representative for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives within the organization.
The incumbent will report directly to the Managing Director and will hold the authority to implement and enhance the Management Systems.
With a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence, the role requires the promotion of best practices across the company. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as the position will provide leadership and oversight on key compliance matters, including Health and Safety, Environmental Management, and adherence to legal obligations. Collaboration with the Technical and Business Improvement Manager will be crucial for broader compliance and enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountability for ensuring compliance with applicable management standards and customer-specific Quality Management System requirements, including:
- BS EN ISO 14001
- ISO 45001
- ISO 45003
- Engagement with all departments, clients, and subcontractors on ESG and management system issues
- Development of industry-leading standards and processes throughout the organization, along with leadership in their implementation
- Management of internal audits for the Management Systems
- Conducting audits of suppliers and subcontractors' Management Systems as necessary
- Creation and management of relevant Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures
- Identifying root causes of non-conformances and recommending corrective and preventive actions
- Reporting to senior management on the effectiveness and scope of the Management Systems
- Development and execution of the company’s environmental management systems
- Monitoring relevant legislation and regulations regarding environmental matters and advising the organization on their implications
- Maintaining records of employee training and qualifications
- Implementing the company training program and collaborating with management to assess future training needs
- Establishing internal performance metrics in conjunction with others and identifying relevant benchmarking data, including KPI dashboards
- Executing business improvement projects as required, engaging with customers, delivery partners, and the supply chain to foster innovation
- Supporting business continuity and assisting in bids for new projects, including providing evidence and contributing to broader business initiatives
- Identifying opportunities for awards and accreditations
Social Responsibilities
- Collaborating with Social Value teams to develop and document strategies and outcomes related to social value projects
- Partnering with the learning and development team to strategize the recruitment and integration of graduates, apprentices, and new employees
Qualifications
- A university degree or equivalent vocational qualification (e.g., HND)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in management systems
- Experience in delivering and implementing systems and processes internally
- Proven ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
- Familiarity with management systems standards
