Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveys, inspections, and investigations to identify environmental hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Write reports and present cases in court to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Act as an expert witness in court to provide technical advice on environmental issues.
  • Mediate and negotiate with stakeholders to resolve environmental disputes.
  • Appraise planning and licensing applications to ensure environmental implications are addressed.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of the team's service plan.
Requirements
  • Education to degree standard or equivalent in a relevant field, such as environmental health or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to translate technical issues for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in environmental health and preferably in the environmental protection area.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and respond to demands to ensure customer satisfaction and legislative requirements are met.
