We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our team at Bright Horizons Teddington Cedar Road Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding care to all children in your setting, driving employee engagement, retention, and performance, and working in partnership with our Recruitment and HR teams to ensure our nursery is fully recruited and has a diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities- Lead our nursery teams to deliver exceptional care and education to children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and development.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive employee engagement, retention, and performance, aligning with our company values of Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.
- Work closely with our Recruitment and HR teams to ensure our nursery is fully staffed and has a diverse workforce, reflecting the needs of our children and families.
- Role model and mentor our nursery team to ensure the highest quality early childhood practice and experience for all children, including those with special education needs and/or disabilities.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the day-to-day running of the nursery and management of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Work with our Regional Director, Finance, and Marketing teams to identify and implement commercial plans and strategies to deliver FTE growth within the nursery.
- Engage with our Local Authority to understand the local offer and support practice in all areas of the nursery.
- Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
- Experience within an Early Years leadership role, ideally as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar.
- Experience of participating in a regulatory inspection, leading to a "Good" or "Outstanding" outcome.
- Experience of developing high-performance teams, with effective regulatory compliance, quality improvement, delivery of high-quality pedagogy, innovation, and service excellence.
- Confident decision maker, with the ability to support change and understand the complex relationship between business/commerce and service excellence within a regulated setting.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children.
- Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with colleagues, parents, and external partners.
