Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety

Location: Flexible working arrangements available

Salary: Competitive

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Principal Engineer - Product Safety to lead a small team in developing a functional Safety Case. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production of the Safety Case to a defined schedule and reporting to a Safety Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team in developing a functional Safety Case
  • Manage the production of the Safety Case to a defined schedule
  • Undertake complex safety analysis using techniques such as Fault Tree analysis and Event Tree Analysis
  • Produce written function safety justifications
  • Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders both external and internal to the business

Requirements:

Essential:

  • STEM Degree or relevant experience
  • Leading a small team
  • Delivering functional Safety Cases
  • Complex safety analysis and justification

Desirable:

  • Previous submarine experience
  • Particularly Vehicle Control
  • Complex Control Systems

About the Role:

This is a great opportunity to be involved in all aspects of safety management and safety case delivery. You will develop an understanding of how submarine systems work and work together and ensure that the system of system interactions considers Product Safety appropriately.
