The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our Disputes team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating billing activities on large high-profile disputes, ensuring bills are prepared accurately and on time. You will also use specialist software to ensure narrative and matter code conformance and assist with cost/budget management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating billing activities on large high-profile disputes
- Using specialist software to ensure narrative and matter code conformance
- Assisting with cost/budget management
- Liaising with lawyers and Business Finance where appropriate
- Assisting with the preparation of weekly client reporting
- Matter Plan and budget maintenance
- Supporting the partners, fee earners and LPMs with billing queries
- Helping to implement and manage technological improvements to the current system
- Assisting with invoice status updates on SharePoint
Paralegal Duties:
- Assisting with document management using WorkSite, HighQ and SharePoint
- Conducting research, using internet and other research tools
- Bundling
- Proofreading
- Document management
- Any other duties as required
Qualifications, skills and experience:
- Previous paralegal experience working on large commercial disputes
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong IT skills including a good working knowledge of Microsoft programmes, in particular Excel
- Familiarity with document management systems desirable
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
