Reports to: Engineering Manager/Deputy

Job Purpose: To ensure a safe and effective 7-day bus operation while upholding high standards of cleanliness and presentation for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Refueling Duties

Prepare the vehicle fleet for the next day's service by refueling, Maintain cleanliness in the refueling area and eliminate any hazards before commencing work, Position vehicles correctly next to the pump and ensure the engine is turned off using the emergency stop, then proceed with refueling, Utilize the fuel tag to initiate the refueling process, ensuring the nozzle is securely placed in the fuel neck, and handle any spills responsibly, Monitor and replenish AdBlue levels carefully to prevent spills, Accurately document mileage, fuel consumption, and any oil and AdBlue usage on the daily fuel log, Report any issues with vehicles during refueling and mark those that are not fueled, Dispose of waste properly after refueling and ensure the fuel log is returned to the office with the necessary closing readings recorded.

Cleaning Responsibilities

Ensure vehicles are cleaned in accordance with company and, if applicable, Transport for London (TfL) standards, maintaining accurate records, Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly interior cleaning tasks to meet company standards and complete all related documentation, Depending on the equipment available, either: Move the bus wash to the designated area, check and refill fresh water as needed, clear any obstacles, and commence washing while ensuring all parts of the vehicle are cleaned thoroughly,

Vehicle Management

Park all buses according to the designated parking plan to facilitate smooth deployment for the following day's service.

Compliance with Policies

Understand and adhere to all company policies and statutory regulations regarding working hours, health and safety, and operational practices, Follow all company procedures and guidelines diligently.

General Responsibilities

Utilize permitted garage equipment responsibly and report any defects to the supervisor, Ensure that workplace standards consistently align with company expectations.

Health & Safety Awareness

Immediately report any unsafe conditions or actions using the company reporting procedures, such as fuel or oil spills, Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) for the tasks being performed, including overalls, boots, gloves, and high-visibility clothing.

As an employee, you are responsible for cooperating with management to maintain a safe workplace for all by taking reasonable care to avoid actions that could endanger yourself or others. You are expected to consider potential hazards and risks in all activities while at work.

Detailed health and safety responsibilities are outlined in the company's management system and handbook.

Shift Schedule

Monday to Saturday shifts run from 17:30 to 02:00 with a 30-minute unpaid break and a 15-minute paid break.

Sunday shifts are from 16:00 to 00:30 with similar break times.

The work schedule covers 5 days out of 7 on a 6-week rotation.
