About the Role

Fawkes & Reece West Midlands is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor and Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for accurately pricing the costs of materials, labour, and equipment required for each project and submitting quotations for works. You will also be responsible for preparing and reviewing tender documents, liaising with operational staff, including clients and subcontractors, and administering contracts and variations ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Costing: Accurately price the costs of materials, labour, and equipment required for each project and submit quotations for works.
  • Tender Preparation: Prepare and review tender documents.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Relations: Liaise with operational staff, including clients and subcontractors, and attend internal/external meetings when necessary.
  • Contract Management: Administer contracts and variations ensuring compliance.
  • Cost Control: Implement effective cost control measures to optimize project outcomes.
  • Project Reporting: Regularly report on financial progress, potential risks, and cost-saving opportunities to management.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with Project Managers to establish and maintain budgets throughout the project life cycle.
