Purchasing Officer

The Role

  • Act as a representative for the new Procurement division
  • Establish and nurture effective relationships with all stakeholders
  • Enhance the performance of the entire Supply Chain
  • Process purchase requests and issue purchase orders to suppliers
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with established procedures, local laws, and directives from Senior Management
  • Effectively communicate with suppliers regarding purchase order commitments and drive on-time in-full (OTIF) performance
  • Solicit quotations from both existing and potential new suppliers
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers concerning various commercial terms
  • Convert purchase requests into purchase orders within agreed service levels
  • Confirm purchase orders with suppliers
  • Report any challenges or delays back to the business through established channels
  • Maintain master data across systems and other platforms
  • Create new part numbers as necessary
  • Analyze and resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers

The Person

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is essential
  • Procurement or Supply Chain-related qualifications, such as CIPS, would be advantageous
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Familiarity with any major ERP system is desirable
  • Able to work independently on processes with established service levels
  • Service-oriented and solution-focused
  • Basic analytical capabilities
