Job Title: Full Time Bureau Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Time Bureau Manager to join our team at The Gym King. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for leading a team of garment technologists and driving the development of high-quality products that meet our brand's vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a team of direct reports to support the creative vision for the brand, ensuring design/fit and quality requirements are continually met.
  2. Ensure the design/tech development calendar is clearly understood and adhered to, promoting collaborative working within early product development stages.
  3. Support internal design & buying teams with specs and fits across the product pyramid.
  4. Lead the team in driving solutions on fit, quality and construction methods. Manage in-house training to develop and build continuous improvement.
  5. Manage weekly fit meetings, supporting team with product direction and solution to create best product whilst maintaining critical path.
  6. Support with new fits and deliver both commercial & innovative thinking.
  7. Direct the weekly call with suppliers and communicate findings internally.
  8. Direct internal team to ensure all comments/ approvals/ sign offs are aligned with the production critical paths to achieve on-time delivery.
  9. Manage the end-to-end product process throughout proto/ SMS/ PPS/ GS sample seals.
  10. Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure sample availability for launch plans/ asset building.
  11. Work closely with the shipping team to deliver on-time product handover.
  12. Maintain and grow strong supplier relationships, working closely with factories on improved ways of working to deliver best practice, acting when needed to resolve quality/ production challenges.
  13. Build and maintain a thorough understanding of the supply base, exploring and proposing alternative sources as appropriate.
  14. Support the wider business needs with vendor ethical and compliance records, keeping accurate and up to date information of compliance certifications. Work closely with factory to ensure standards are continually met and evolved.
  15. Be responsible for quality, keeping testing manuals updated and aligned with current market standards.
  16. Manage AQL reporting with both internal teams and external vendors.
  17. Manage quarterly supplier/ vendor reviews and communicate findings to support the wider business in key decision making.
  18. Conduct frequent return reports and feedback findings to internal product teams to optimise product evolution and drive consumer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 5 years' experience working within a similar role.
  2. Excellent knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting, fabrics and the apparel end to end process.
  3. Experience in Menswear, Womenswear and Kidswear would be preferable.
  4. Experience working with sportswear apparel/activewear.
  5. Degree in the apparel sector.
  6. Experience of working with factories in the UK & overseas.
  7. QC experience with exceptional attention to detail & quality.
  8. Understanding key product testing requirements.
  9. Experience in supporting brand returns strategy & setting KPI's.
  10. Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  11. Experienced & confident in leading fit sessions.
