Financial Team Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Team Manager to join our team at Coventry City Council. As a Financial Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring the financial assessments support assistants and providing support and deputising for the Financial Assessment Operations manager.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor financial assessment forms to ensure compliance with Department of Health's Charging and Statutory Support Guidance and Coventry Adult Social Care charging policy.
- Resolve queries, complaints, and financial assessment appeals.
- Monitor and report on financial details inputted into the department's CareDirector computer system.
- Handle inquiries from operational staff, solicitors, Department for Work and Pensions, relatives, and service users regarding financial assessment outcomes and invoice inquiries.
- Deputise for the Operational Manager at Management Team meetings, Cabinet, and/or Scrutiny.
- Conduct regular performance management reviews and identify training and development needs.
- Respond to complaints and appeals through the corporate complaint process and complete Ombudsman reports.
- Co-ordinate, allocate, and monitor workloads to ensure customer focus and performance targets are met.
- Provide statistical, financial, and operational reports to the Operations Manager.
- A person with experience in management to lead and motivate a team.
- Self-management skills for workload organization, prioritization, and implementation with minimum supervision.
- Ability to provide and monitor training and development programs for the section.
- Experience in implementing or managing a monitoring process and handling complaints.
