Are you a skilled clinical psychologist looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young adults struggling with severe eating disorders and complex mental health difficulties? We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced clinical psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team as a specialist therapist for young adults with eating disorders.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide specialist psychological assessments and individualized evidence-based interventions for young adults with severe eating disorders and complex mental health difficulties.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary risk management, care planning, and decision-making with a formulation-driven psychological perspective.
- Manage a complex caseload as the individual psychological therapist and facilitate group psychological interventions and family/systemic interventions.
- Monitor clinical progress through regular reviews of psychological treatment and provide high-quality clinical supervision to the Assistant Psychologist.
- Support staff development through training, consultation, formulation meetings, and reflective practice sessions.
- Contribute to service developments within the therapies team and wider service.
- Receive regular supervision and line management from the Regional Therapies Lead/Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
- Maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice and adhere to the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and Company Policies and Procedures.
- Doctoral-level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent if trained overseas).
- Registration with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist.
- Knowledge and understanding of eating disorders and their impact on young adults and their families.
- Experience working with individuals with eating disorders and their families in community or inpatient services.
- Prior experience in eating disorders is desirable but not essential for this position. Experience working with patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder, neurodivergence, trauma, and personality disorders is also desirable.
- Post-qualification training in the specialist application of therapeutic models relevant for working with young adults with eating disorders and other comorbidities.
- Experience of supervising and training junior members of the team.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patient's psychological care and treatment as a qualified professional within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
