About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer Lead to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our energy transition team, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions for our clients in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the Power Systems subject matter expert for the UK, providing technical guidance and input on various stages of client projects.
  • Work on feasibility stage electrical designs for new connections or upgrades, including HV connections for new energy centres and EHV connections for battery storage/renewable projects.
  • Conduct technical reviews and prepare technical documentation and studies.
  • Build and lead a team to support detailed analysis of power systems as required.
  • Support energy masterplan studies on pathways to decarbonisation, providing expert advice on future loads, feasibility of proposed solutions, and impact assessment on the grid.
  • Stay up-to-date with policy/regulation changes that might impact power systems solutions.
  • Perform Due Diligence and Owner's Engineer activities for client projects.
  • Manage bids and projects throughout their life cycle.
  • Stay current with the latest ancillary/balancing/flexibility market services for industrial, renewable, and battery storage projects.
About You

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in transmission, distribution, or consulting, particularly in infrastructure planning of project-level, local, and regional power systems schemes across various stages (feasibility, concept, design, and specification).

You should have a working knowledge of grid code compliance requirements, high-level modelling of new connections, including costs, and experience working in accordance with DNO standard documents, reviewing single line diagrams and designs.

Additionally, you should have knowledge of energy network regulations and the ability to keep up-to-date with the latest changes on business plans and connections charging.
