We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a passionate food enthusiast to join our team as a Lead Product Innovation Specialist. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the creation of new and enhanced products for both branded and private label offerings.
Our organization operates multiple food production facilities and has a broad reach across various regions, encompassing numerous agricultural outlets and diverse divisions, including Beverages, Dairy, Meat, Fresh Produce, and Agricultural services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee product development projects, adhering to established protocols and timelines as outlined by stakeholders.
- Coordinate trials, shelf life assessments, sample preparations, and industrial validations for all product initiatives.
- Collaborate with all production departments to facilitate the development of new products from initial feasibility through to market launch.
- Manage the innovation process for branded products based on directives from the marketing team.
- Lead the development of private label products for ongoing category evaluations and seasonal launches, as well as necessary modifications to existing products.
- Organize culinary explorations and product showcases to introduce emerging food trends and concepts to the broader team.
- Contribute to sales presentations, enhancing the level of product knowledge available to retail partners.
- Provide essential information to relevant departments to create quality and technical documentation for product launches.
- Research and communicate new ideas and trends to colleagues in Category Management, Marketing, Commercial, and Product Development.
- Monitor product performance post-launch in accordance with the review process.
- Report on project status to the Head of Product Development.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Preferably possess a degree in Food Science/Technology or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in a Product Development department, with a focus on chilled/short shelf life products, shelf life testing, product sampling, factory trials, and cost analysis.
- Proven experience in leading product development projects from concept through to launch.
- Strong IT and communication skills.
