About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Radiotherapy Physicist to join our team at Royalberkshire. As a key member of our Radiotherapy Physics Section, you will play a critical role in providing clinical scientific and technical support to our Berkshire Cancer Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Control and Calibration: Perform quality control and calibration measurements on radiotherapy treatment machines and imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with local and national protocols and codes of practice.
  • Commissioning and Maintenance: Participate in the commissioning of radiotherapy equipment, including designing procedures and overseeing the commissioning process.
  • Treatment Planning: Produce individual treatment plans for external beam radiotherapy, working closely with medical staff to ensure accurate and effective treatment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposures) Regulations 2017 and other relevant regulations.

Person Specification
  • Qualifications: 1st or 2nd class Honours degree in a relevant subject, relevant MSc or higher degree, and current UK registration as a Clinical Scientist.
  • Experience: Proven experience in Radiotherapy Planning, QA, Commissioning, and Clinical Radiotherapy Physics.
