About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Butcher to join our team at SPAR Bowness. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality meat products to our customers, while maintaining exceptional customer service and adhering to food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing meat for sale, including bone-out carcasses with good cutting standards
  • Ensuring all food safety and health and safety regulations are met within the butchery department
  • Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products
  • Keeping records, budgets, and inventory
  • Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, and accepting orders or payments
  • Controlling waste

Requirements

  • Be helpful and friendly, and feel comfortable working with the public
  • To be enthusiastic, committed, and self-motivated
  • Adopts a 'can-do' attitude to challenging situations
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours
  • Thorough knowledge of HACCPS
  • Proven experience in a butchery environment
