Job Overview

Bertram Fairbanks is seeking a highly skilled Charity / Commercial Property Solicitor to join our team. As a key member of our commercial property team, you will be involved in a wide range of commercial property work, including sales and purchases, leasehold work, portfolio management, and secured lending.

Our client base ranges from sole traders to large corporate entities, as well as charities. You will work closely with our corporate and commercial team, providing property support when required.

As a Charity / Commercial Property Solicitor, you will need to be able to work independently and have the skills and abilities to deliver high-quality legal advice with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Client Relations:
    • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
    • Providing professional advice to clients
    • Attending meetings with clients
  2. Case Management:
    • Ensuring high-quality work is produced
    • Advising on and providing legal support in commercial property matters
    • Attending meetings with clients and third parties
  3. Business Development:
    • Participating in the growth and development of the department and the firm
    • Attending networking events
    • Writing blogs and newsletters
    • Assisting with departmental and firm marketing
  4. Trainees and Paralegals:
    • Supervising trainee solicitors and paralegals
    • Providing training to trainee solicitors and paralegals
Requirements

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5-7 years PQE. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills, a positive 'can do' attitude, and be a team player. Previous experience in corporate commercial practice or equivalent in-house experience is essential.

You will also need to have strong commercial awareness, excellent organisation skills, strong IT knowledge, and great attention to detail. The ability to work autonomously and think on your feet is also essential.
