Quantity Surveyor Opportunity at Smyth Steel

Smyth Steel, a leading provider of structural steel design, fabrication, and erection services, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team. As a key member of the company's growth strategy, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-profile projects across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide cost management and control services for projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and reporting on commercial delivery.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks associated with projects.
  • Prepare and submit monthly cost value reports, including earned value, costs to complete, and overhead monitoring and control reports.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction and/or engineering, with a preference for structural steel experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software for cost estimation and project management, including BIM/CAD measure and Cost-X.
  • Knowledge of Tekla or other BIM software is an advantage.
  • Full driving license.
