As a key member of our team, the Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for championing safety, health, and environmental management on site. This role requires a strong focus on developing and maintaining a positive safety culture across all three sites.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of health and safety law and a proven track record of implementing and maintaining processes to ensure compliance. They will also have expert knowledge of best practice and industry standards, with a clear understanding of how to tap into industry-wide best practice.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the business expert on all health and safety matters
- Monitoring employer liability claims and being the key contact with enforcement bodies and response services
- Developing and maintaining UK safety standards across site
- Carrying out regular audits and plant inspections
- Ensuring appropriate budget is available and spent on health and safety requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a management or head of SHE role within food manufacturing, with a strong understanding of local government departments and the ability to proactively engage with key stakeholders. NEBOSH and health and safety qualifications are essential.
We are looking for a candidate who is agile in their thinking and behaviours, with a strong focus on continuous development and improvement of safety and environmental management systems.
