Job Opportunity at British Garden CentresWe are seeking a skilled Cook/Chef to join our team at British Garden Centres. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to meet customer demand.
- Work collaboratively with the Chef and other Cooks to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
- Monitor portion sizes and waste to maintain profitability.
- Restock pantry and fridge/freezer as necessary to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
- Take deliveries and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Experience working in a commercial catering environment.
- Knowledge of carvery and HACCP procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of allergens, meat weights, and portion control.
- Professionalism and reliability, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good time management and basic food hygiene certification.
- No evening work, split shifts, or unsociable hours.
- Security of working in a well-established expanding family business.
- Negotiable rate of pay dependent on skills and experience.
- 50% meal discount at any BGC restaurant and 20% discount at any BGC store.
