About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Relief Security Officer to join our prestigious site in Ipswich. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a safe and secure environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

The successful candidate will work a 7 on 3 off, 7 on 4 off shift pattern, Monday to Sunday, on a day and night rotation. The rate of pay is £12.98 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive patrols of the building, reporting any faults or safety concerns to Building Management or maintenance teams.
  2. Manage loading bay traffic, ensuring all vehicles are supervised and administrative tasks are completed for contractors' permits to work.
  3. Act as an ambassador for the building, maintaining a welcoming approach and professional appearance.
  4. Welcome staff and guests with a genuine greeting and respond with a smile or reassuring gesture.
  5. Maintain excellent site knowledge of the building and surrounding area to effectively answer questions from building users.
  6. Have excellent timekeeping and organisational skills.
  7. Be aware of personal responsibilities regarding site policies and procedures, as well as relevant UK domestic legislation directives.
  8. Be observant and have a full understanding of building security SOPs and EOPs to ensure the security of the building and its users.
  9. Observe Health and Safety and manual handling risk assessment practices in line with the site's Assignment Instructions and SOPs.
  10. Understand the term 'Duty of Care' and be aware of personal boundaries of work.
