Job Title: Capital Appeals Manager

Merrifield Consultants is seeking a skilled Capital Appeals Manager to lead a high-profile fundraising campaign for Young Epilepsy, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults with epilepsy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure £2m in voluntary donations for the refurbishment of St Piers College.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with high net worth individuals, trusts, and foundations to secure significant funding.
  • Write and submit compelling grant applications and proposals to achieve agreed income targets.
  • Provide exceptional stewardship and engagement with donors, including individual donor care plans, written communications, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to develop a marketing brief and maximize social media and PR opportunities.
  • Deliver regular reports on activity, income, and spending to the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the Board, and the Executive team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing successful capital fundraising appeals.
  • Track record of securing significant funds from high net worth individuals and grant-making organizations.
  • Excellent stewardship and engagement skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with donors.
  • Recent experience of working in a target-driven environment, with a proven ability to deliver against financial targets.
