About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fraud Analyst to join our team at Cleo. As a key member of our fraud team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and profitability of our platform through data-driven access decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take on a senior analytics role on the fraud team, helping to prioritize the workload and strategy of the team
  • Define key fraud metrics and track KPIs to assess true risk to the company and our users
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of user behavior and payments data to identify features indicative of potential fraud
  • Collaborate with fraud investigators to identify trends and recommend new frameworks or rulesets to prevent future losses
  • Work closely with engineering, product, and data science partners to build a best-in-class fraud prevention, detection, and response framework
  • Optimize existing rules and create new data-backed fraud rules to reduce chargeback rates
  • Assess potential third-party partners that can supplement customer data or enhance risk decision-making
Requirements
  • Multiple years of experience in quantitative analysis within a digital product environment
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to dig deep into various data sources to find insights
  • Experience in an adversarial risk prevention or detection space, such as community integrity, financial crime prevention, or account security
  • Proven track record of proactively identifying new fraud rules, conducting root cause analysis, and optimizing existing processes
  • Exposure to both user-facing product analytics and back-end process improvements
  • Ability to define metrics from scratch and create dashboards
  • Familiarity with conducting large-scale A/B experiments
  • Preferred experience working with third-party data, such as payments processors, risk engines, or data aggregators
