About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Pearson Assessment Services. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and providing data insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data pipelines using various technologies such as Amazon Aurora, Microsoft SQL, and Oracle
  • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validation rules
  • Perform advanced performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines
  • Implement and maintain data monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline data management tasks
Requirements
  • Proficiency in one or more database systems such as Amazon Aurora, Microsoft SQL, and Oracle
  • Expert-level hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validation rules
  • Knowledge of AWS DMS, Lambda, S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Redshift, Glue, and Event Bridge
  • Change Data Capture understanding
  • Automated testing design and setup
  • Experience with large-scale data environments
  • Data Warehousing concepts, design, and loading strategies
  • Experience with Integration/Ingestions of data
