Apprentice Building Surveyor

The Energy Division at ARM is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Nuclear client based in Plymouth.
Job Overview:
To drive commercial excellence across contracts and projects, protect the client's interests regarding terms and conditions, and provide guidance, advice, and instruction on tendering, negotiating, and placing subcontracts performed by direct reports.
Support the team in compiling pre-tender estimates, cost planning, and modeling design and implementation options, cost review/monitoring of projects, tender compilation, negotiation, commercial review, and subcontractor claim reviews.
Ensure Contract Administration is carried out in accordance with Contract requirements and in line with Corporate Governance.
- Collate pre-tender infrastructure estimates, including cost planning and modeling of design options, to support tender compilation.
- Prepare cost input to Monthly Reports to the client and Project Management for sub-contracts and/or facilities, in accordance with project procedures.
- Review cost plans produced by subcontractors and develop into agreed baseline budgets within the framework of the WBS and in conjunction with Relevant Project Staff.
- Prepare forecasts of future costs, including subcontractor claim reviews.
- Demonstrable quantity surveying experience in a construction environment is essential.
