The Recruitment Bunker is seeking an exceptional EDS Engineer to join an innovative automotive Electronics and Electrical Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will work on cutting-edge programmes, driving the design and development of high-quality electrical distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and follow company policies, ensuring adherence to quality, health, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the electronics systems team to design and develop cost-effective electrical distribution systems.
  • Design and develop new EDS designs using VeSys, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Continuously develop and improve existing designs, identifying areas for optimization and innovation.
  • Support idea generation and problem resolution through structured Design Reviews.
  • Develop specifications from customer and internal requirements, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Prepare and release harness manufacturing data using VeSys, ensuring efficient production processes.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and control the engineering change process.
  • Develop test and validation procedures and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with electronics system designers to develop high-quality, cost-effective interconnect systems.
  • Help develop definition of interface requirements for subsystems and components, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Manage documentation as part of the change management process for existing systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Specify test plans for developed systems, ensuring thorough and efficient testing.
  • Complete design verification and function sign off in line with project deadlines, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Support your team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent within a relevant subject.
  • 3 – 5 years professional experience in electrical systems development within an Automotive setting or with an OEM or tier 1 supplier.
  • Electrical integration and fault-finding experience, with a strong understanding of harness and schematic drawings.
  • Experience in VeSys, with a good understanding of CAD and CAE literacy – Catia V5 and engineering design knowledge.
  • Understanding of fuse box, PDS, and grounding strategies, with a discipline to follow technical and administrative procedures.
  • Practical harness building experience, with a strong understanding of engineering change requests and claim management.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to excel in organisational skills and time management.
  • A drive to learn and improve at every opportunity, with a willingness to support others.
  • A positive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes, with a strong work ethic.
  • IDLR/Full Rights to Work in the UK – Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/provided.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Catia, with Catia E3D working knowledge.
  • EMC design good practice, with knowledge of basic electronics.
  • Modern harness manufacturing processes, with a strong understanding of industry trends.
