Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Linux Engineering Lead to join our team at Sopra Steria. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Linux engineers and providing technical expertise to ensure the smooth operation of our Linux estate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Linux engineers and provide technical guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality infrastructure services.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies using tools such as Ansible to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions that meet business needs.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support and expertise to complex technical activities such as root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and technical risk assessments.
  • Work with engineers to ensure that infrastructure is maintained with the latest firmware and software requirements.
  • Represent the team at key ITIL process touch points, including change advisory boards, problem management, and technical design authority.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, including RedHat Enterprise Linux and derivatives.
  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform version 2.
  • Knowledge of Unix Storage filesystems and access protocols, including LVM2.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of engineers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
