Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Howden, A Chart Industries Company. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of rotating equipment machinery across various customer sites in the UK and occasionally overseas.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to company environmental, health, and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimization of environmental impact.
- Travel to customer sites to perform routine service, repair, installation, and commissioning of rotating equipment in compliance with company standards and requirements.
- Communicate with clients to control on-site activities and provide technical support pertinent to installation, commissioning, and service/repair.
- Prepare and issue all documentation relative to processing of on-site activities – daily reports, visit reports, site communications, time-sheets, and commissioning documents.
- Carry out on-site analysis of machinery and provide condition reports with the aim of driving additional business through service upgrades/spare parts requirements, etc.
- Interact and respond to all aspects of the business, supporting SHE, efficiency, delivery, and quality improvements.
Requirements
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Recognized engineering apprenticeship.
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience gained through working in a multi-skilled service engineer role in a rotating machinery industry.
- Significant experience of working in a mechanical environment/industrial sites – Water, Power, and Gas industries preferred.
- Time Management.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to self-manage in remote locations.
- Frequent travel within the UK and worldwide.
