POSITION SUMMARY
This position plays a crucial role in supporting the Asset ERS & Offshore Survey and Positioning teams by overseeing all ICT processes and associated tasks. The focus is on the upkeep, planning, and effective use of ICT survey and positioning assets, including third-party equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Survey and Positioning teams in accordance with departmental and project needs concerning all aspects of workstation hardware and software (Processing, Helmsman, Visulasoft).
Execute User Creation and Deletion administration tasks following established work instructions.
Perform Back Up and Restore Operation administration tasks to ensure data security and integrity, serving as the point of contact for vessel teams with VOC and remote support.
Maintain comprehensive documentation, including the Register of Licenses, Inventories, and IT procedures, along with all vessel-related diagrams and inventories as per Asset requirements for Survey IT setups and Ultimo asset tracking software.Collaborate with Asset Engineers and workshop coordinators to optimize asset utilization for project support and fleet operations, including third-party vessels.
Coordinate with the Vessel Operations Centre (VOC) for all access permissions through firewalls and address related issues.
Ensure all IT setups are serviced, configured, and ready in alignment with the Survey quality system and project specifications prior to deployment.
Provide support to Offshore Teams regarding all IT equipment issues and liaise with equipment manufacturers/suppliers to resolve technical challenges.
Stay informed about current requirements and the latest industry codes and standards, including relevant statutory regulations.
Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with the client's policies on health, safety, quality, and environmental matters, adhering to specific procedures.
Plan and implement procurement requests for equipment, spare parts, and consumables, tracking them through the procurement process as necessary.Assist with vessel mobilization and demobilization by joining the Offshore Team or onshore team as needed, setting up the IT infrastructure for new vessels and asset refits.
Actively engage in research and development within the Asset team to identify and cultivate new technologies and enhance internally developed solutions to meet project demands.
QUALIFICATIONS:
College or University degree in a relevant computer or IT field.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Win7/Win10), Windows Server (2008/2012), Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Outlook.
Good working knowledge of Cisco systems, including switches, routers, and Call Manager.
Familiarity with Visulasoft, Allways Sync, and Backup Exec.
Experience in an onshore support environment is essential.
Extensive background in desktop and server support, with VMware and SQL experience preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
Basic understanding of offshore survey operations.
Experience working within a Survey & Positioning department.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and training from equipment manufacturers.
