About the RoleThis is a hands-on role that requires strong planning and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail. You'll be responsible for coordinating the warehouse and transport logistics teams, supporting the efficient running of distribution and transport operations for Octopus Energy Services.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Warehouse and Transport operations teams to achieve a brilliant service level to our customers by optimising drivers' schedules to ensure jobs go ahead smoothly from the start.
- Work in an environment that requires an overview of operations, controlling the flow of work to help us achieve the best service and efficiency at the same time.
- Be a highly analytical individual, with the ability to work with spreadsheets and carry out a high level of analysis.
- Be confident in working with multiple systems, including automation systems and robotics.
- Coordinate pick wave releases and advise managers on resource allocation to best achieve a smooth running operation to achieve our goals.
- Be the main point of contact for purchasing stock from suppliers to ensure stock levels are kept to an optimal level.
- Be the main point of contact between the installation scheduling team, the distribution team, and our transport delivery partners to co-ordinate activities and to achieve service goals.
- Be the keeper of training records and co-ordinate re-training when necessary to keep our team operating safely and effectively.
- Ensure our operation maintains great quality and accuracy by co-ordinating stock checks, carrying out physical stock checks, and carrying out physical customer order quality checks as an independent auditor.
- Carry out periodic analysis of product storage positions and co-ordinate subsequent movements providing the most efficient product layout.
- Be comfortable with computers and confident in adopting and promoting the use of new technology.
- Be flexible to work and lead shifts allocated between 06:00 – 22:00 any day of the week.
- Focus on output, not input, and obsessively strive to make things better.
- Have tip-top organisation skills and be a bit obsessive about getting things right.
- Love people and be working amongst other awesome humans.
- Be flexible and expect the role and responsibilities to adapt as the operation matures.
- Previous inventory control, stock management, purchasing, warehouse, or Transport scheduling experience is an advantage.
- Hold a full Clean Driving license (you'll hop into driving & warehouse to support).
