As a junior/entry level Avionics Technician at Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, you will have the chance to enhance your professional skills while working with one of the most advanced fleets of aircraft globally.
Your primary responsibility will be to execute operational tasks that ensure a safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience, aligning with our brand values and business objectives while adhering to all compliance and regulatory standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Duties
Working on a shift basis under the guidance of experienced Aircraft Mechanics, Category A Technicians, and Engineers, you will:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of aircraft maintenance protocols and complete all assigned training programs.
- Conduct maintenance tasks for Cathay Group aircraft and, when applicable, for third-party clients.
- Participate in local or international operational support duties as needed.
- Assist in monitoring the performance of third-party service providers (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refueling, etc.), addressing and resolving any operational challenges promptly.
- Contribute to contingency planning and support ad hoc operational needs such as diversions, charters, and recovery from major disruptions.
- Perform maintenance and servicing for ground support equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
- Aid in compliance with Cathay Quality Assurance, the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, and/or third-party audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings as directed.
- Manage station administration tasks and ensure that documentation and passes are current and valid as instructed by the Engineering Manager or Assistant Engineering Manager.
- Uphold compliance with local Occupational Health & Safety regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders and teams on assigned training and projects to broaden your exposure to line maintenance.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested, including engaging in non-operational duties.
Performance Management and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure that annual SMART goals are clearly understood and actively pursued.
- Participate in performance reviews and discuss your career development plan with your designated appraiser.
- Attend station meetings as required to maintain effective communication and engagement.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through quality innovation, teamwork, and lean processes to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
Emergency and Accident Response
- Fulfill responsibilities related to emergency and accident response as required.
Educational Background
- Recent graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Aviation, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
Skills and Experience
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Demonstrated understanding of aircraft maintenance operations.
- Willingness to undergo induction training and on-the-job training as required, covering areas such as Aircraft and Ramp Safety Awareness, Company Procedures Awareness, Human Factors Awareness, Aircraft General Knowledge, HKAR66 Module training, and other relevant training.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Previous experience in an airline internship program or hands-on experience in the aviation sector is advantageous.
