Teaching Assistant - SEN

Tempest Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN teaching assistant to work at one of our partner schools in Southwark.

The school is an Ofsted-rated "Outstanding" 2-form entry primary school looking for a committed teaching assistant to join their team ASAP until the end of the academic year.

This is a full-time role, working with children with challenging behaviour and SEN in KS1/KS2. Your daily hours will be 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working 1:1, 2:1, and in small groups with children who have diverse needs
  • Reporting to the SLT on pupils' progress throughout the academic year and maintaining relationships with parents and class teachers
  • Supervising children during activities
  • Managing challenging behaviour

You must have a strong passion for working with SEN students, as this role has a strong focus on attending to SEN pupils' personal, social, and educational needs.

The school prioritizes creating a supportive and collaborative environment where pupils and staff can learn together.

You will be providing support to the class teacher and ensuring that pupils are in safe environments by conducting regular risk assessments, following the school's policies and procedures.
