Graduate Teaching Assistant (Secondary) Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic Secondary school in South Shields. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in delivering lessons and providing targeted support to students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist classroom teachers with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring a smooth and engaging learning experience for students.
  • Support individual and small group work with students, helping them to reinforce their learning and achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting a culture of respect and empathy among students.
  • Work closely with students who require additional support, ensuring their needs are met and they feel valued and included.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and development, helping to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support, helping to create a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Support students during extra-curricular activities and school trips, promoting a sense of community and shared experience.
Requirements:
  • A degree in any subject, demonstrating a strong academic foundation and a passion for learning.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education, with a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to build positive relationships with students and staff, promoting a culture of respect and collaboration.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting is desirable, but not essential.
